Transcription: Moreover, in certain passages of Isaiah's prophecy, the Lord hinted that the silence would end with the coming of the Messiah. In the minds of most Jews, the Messiah was a powerful military figure who would slaughter their enemies and release them from centuries of bondage. But Isaiah proclaimed that the Messiah would be a suffering servant, a mysterious figure who would redeem others by his own agony and torment. This prophetic portrayal of God's anointed one was never popular during the silent years. Yet it ultimately came to fulfillment in a Galilean carpenter son named Jesus of Nazareth.
